Nothing beats a good partnership; think Bonnie & Clyde, Tom & Jerry, Lennon & McCartney, Macaroni & Cheese (our favourite!). So let us propose to you Benedicts Restaurant and The English Whisky Company… OK, it might be a partnership just for one night, but we think it’s rather exciting…

Benedicts’ chef proprietor, Richard Bainbridge, has teamed up with The English Whisky Company to take over The Kitchen at St George’s Distillery for a unique evening event on Monday 17th September.

The beautiful distillery (in Roudham) was designed and built by the Nelstrop family for the specific purpose of producing the very finest English Single Malt Whisky. Why Roudham, you might ask? Well, there are only two main ingredients in whisky - barley and water - and the Nelstrop family has them both in abundance. They draw the purest, cleanest water from the Breckland aquifer deep beneath their distillery and of course Norfolk is one of the world’s premier growing barley regions, so their supply is plentiful and local.

Richard is designing a 4-course menu with a focus on English Whisky and Norfolk Barley, with the sole aim of celebrating the wonderful local produce that we are gifted with in Norfolk.
