Do you know – or are you – a local food or drink producer? If so, The Food and Drink Forum Wants Your Input…
We were really interested to be approached recently by a body called The Food and Drink Forum. This not-for-profit organisation has been engaged by Norfolk’s local councils to help identify the need for a purpose built food centre on the Food Enterprise Park (just outside Norwich near the showground) that will support the growth of small and medium sized enterprises engaged in food and drink manufacturing in the area.
The council would like to make contact with businesses so as to better understand the potential demand for food grade units as well as the type of support and facilities required to promote growth.
The council is keen to understand what the requirements might be in terms of support and premises requirements over the coming years; this will enable them to develop appropriate support to help food and drink businesses grow and expand.
The food park concept aims to:
• Provide a number of various sized food grade units that are compliant to the BRC standard which will be supported by an onsite business centre
• In addition to food technical support, the centre will also provide a range of onsite facilities such as general business support, developing effective routes to market, innovation help, together with the use of a product test / development kitchen facility
If you would like to get involved with this project by answering some questions to help inform on support needs in the county, you can contact Julian Pitt - Economic Development Officer 01508 533864 email@example.com. Tell him we sent you!
