Norfolk Restaurant Week is here!
A record-breaking 84 restaurants across Norfolk have signed up for 2018’s Norfolk (and Norwich) Restaurant Week, and you can now find out exactly what to chow down on during the event, as all the menus have been released for your delectation and deliberation.
It was founded by Martin Billing in 2013, with just 11 participating restaurants, but has grown exponentially. Last year, for example, 30,000 diners took part across 62 locations.
Now in its sixth year, the ‘largest dining event in the county’ will take place from October 29 for two weeks (excluding weekends) showcasing the wide variety of talent and choice across Norfolk’s restaurants, cafes and pubs.
Organisers are particularly delighted with the addition this year of Norwich’s Tipsy Vegan. It’s the first time a wholly plant-based menu has been available during the event - great news for the growing numbers of vegans and flexitarians.
If you have yet to become a Norfolk (or Norwich) Restaurant Week convert, the concept is simple: discerning diners get to choose from fixed-price special lunch or dinner menus in some of the county’s finest eateries such as The White Horse, Brancaster Staithe and the Titchwell Manor Hotel.
This year restaurants will offer either two courses for £12 and three for £17 at lunch, or two courses for £18 and three for £23 in the evenings.
Unsurprisingly, the event has proved hugely popular with diners and restaurants alike and is now a firm fixture in Norfolk’s culinary calendar.
With thanks to The Lifeboat Inn, Titchwell Manor, The Lodge at Old Hunstanton, The Pigs at Edgefield and The White Horse at Brancaster Staithe.
