Paddington Bear spotted in Hunstanton!
It’s definitely a possibility, because news has leaked out that The Norfolk Deli in Hunstanton is set to host its second Norfolk Marmalade Making Awards on 31st March.
With over 30 entries last year exhibiting everything from traditional seville orange marmalade to more exotic flavour combinations, the awards are expected to attract even stiffer competition this year. Judging will take place at the end of one of The Norfolk Deli’s Showcase Saturday events (held on the second and last Saturday of each month) and the judges will include Ali Barwick from Season’s Bounty, herself a marmalade making world champion.
Anyone interested in entering the competition simply needs to drop off a jar of their home made marmalade (not forgetting the all-important contact details) to The Norfolk Deli before noon on the day of the competition. Judging will take place around 2.30pm. Local Hunstanton cook shop, ‘You Cook’ is supporting the event by stocking up on all the equipment needed to make marmalade. So you have no excuse not to whip up a marmalade storm to please even the most discerning of Peruvian bears!
