Picnic in Purple whilst raising much needed funds for local charity
From 9th to 15th July 2018 the Nelson’s Journey Purple Picnic week will take part all over Norfolk.
This is the fourth year this fabulous event has been held and in that time over 14,761 people have taken part in a purple picnic, raising a staggering £23,728.62 so far!
Schools, businesses and individuals are able to hold their own Purple Picnic, perhaps remember someone special that has died and fundraise to help children and young people in Norfolk who have suffered a bereavement.
Nelson’s Journey is a Norfolk charity that supports children and young people up to their 18th birthday who have experienced the death of a significant person in their life.
They provide a range of support, appropriate for the needs of each child or young person. This may include one-to-one support and opportunities to meet others their age who have also experienced a bereavement.
The picnic is also being supported by the very lovely Kate Barmby, local celebrity chef, 2016 Great British Bake Off Contestant and Champion of Norfolk Food & Drink. Kate has teamed up with headline sponsor of Norfolk Food & Drink – Adnams – to create a sumptuous recipe featuring their legendary Copper House Gin.
So get baking and get picnicking – all for a great cause!
