Proudly Norfolk Member Wins ‘Great British Food Award’
We are thrilled to announce that Hunstanton-based Norfolk Deli has been awarded the Great British Food magazine’s ‘Best Retailer in the East of England’ award.
The Great British Food magazine is the longest running monthly newstand magazine which celebrates and endorses the wonderful quality and diversity of British produce. Aimed at an audience of foodies with an educated palate and with regular contributions from food luminaries such as Nathan Outlaw, Richard Corrigan, Jamie Oliver, Rick Stein and James Martin, its “Great British Food Awards” is one of the biggest foodie awards held each year.
By their own admission, Norfolk Deli owners Mark and Rosie Kacary were ‘somewhat amazed’ to even reach the shortlist for such an eminent award, so you can imagine their surprise and utter delight at being told they had won the readers’ award last month. “It was hard to believe that, compared to the mega sized farmshops we were listed against, there were so many people wanting to vote for us” confirms a modest Mark. “This award is so satisfying as it is the general public who have voted for us in numbers and is a great reward for all the long hours we put in. An award like this should also benefit the local economy - awards bring customers and I hope that this will help our Deli showcase the range of local Norfolk products that we specialise in.”
All the award winners were featured in the October edition of the Great British Food magazine - some great and well deserved publicity for such a fabulous business! Well done Norfolk Deli!
