Proudly Norfolk Members’ Success at EDP Norfolk Food & Drink Awards
The 2017 Norfolk Food & Drink Awards took place earlier this month and heralded huge success for Proudly members.
The awards, which are held in association with the East of England Co-op, showcase and celebrate the best of that our county has to offer in ten different categories. From great chefs to fabulous produce, from awesome afternoon teas to brilliant pubs and coffee shops, the awards offer everyone the chance to nominate their food heroes. Shortlisting and judging takes place over a number of months and involves much work by the independent judges, some of whom are forced to indulge in several cream teas a week! On a serious note, the awards are fiercely contested each year and the finalists all invited to attend the Awards night itself, which this year again took place at the welcoming Open venue in central Norwich.
We are over the moon to report that six Proudly members were Award finalists – The Assembly House (category - Best Afternoon Tea), Green Pastures (category -Best Family Dining), Candi’s Chutney, Walsingham Farms Shop & The Norfolk Brewhouse (category - Pride of Norfolk) and The Boars at Spooner Row (category - Best Pub).
Huge congratulations go to Candi’s Chutney and Green Pastures, both of which were crowned winners of their respective categories. We were particularly thrilled that all three finalists in the coveted ‘Price of Norfolk’ category were Proudly members.
