Roger Hickman’s named in Top 100 UK regional restaurants

Congratulations to Roger Hickman and his team for being named in the Top 100 regional restaurants in the UK – and receiving a prestigious accolade for their wine list.

Roger’s eponymous Upper St Giles Street restaurant was voted the 52nd best in the country in the annual SquareMeal Best UK Restaurant survey, which sees thousands of reviewers and diners take part in the poll to name the country’s best 100 dining establishments outside of London. The restaurant – the only one in the Norwich to hold three AA Rosettes – was the top scoring Norfolk establishment in the poll, and only one of three restaurants in the county to feature (Benedicts in Norwich came in at 75 and Morston Hall at 83). SquareMeal described Roger Hickman’s as ‘immensely likeable’ with ‘fabulous food’ displaying ‘sharply defined seasonal flavours’ and ‘thoughtfully sourced and sympathetically handled ingredients’.

Hickman’s has once again also been awarded a prestigious ‘Notable Wine List’ award from the AA for the variety and quality of its wine list – putting it in the top 200 restaurant wine lists in the UK. It is the third year in a row that the restaurant has won the award, in recognition of the carefully chosen list, which includes around 120 wines sourced from a variety of regional and national wine merchants.

Roger Hickman’s restaurant opened in 2010 and has won numerous accolades since, including The Good Food Guide’s Best Restaurant in East Anglia, and the EDP Food Award Best Restaurant award two years on the trot.
