The Fundraising Sausage!
Sausage Week might be over for another year, but the heralded ‘Norfolk Nobbler’ sausage is now available all over the county and is raising money for Marie Curie in Norfolk.
Created by Jamie Archer of Archer’s Butchers, the Norfolk Nobbler brings together their award-winning pork sausage with Parsnip and Chilli Chutney from this year’s EDP Food & Drink Awards 'Pride of Norfolk' winner Candi Robertson, owner of Candi's Chutney. This more-ish sausage can be purchased in ten butchers’ shops around the county until mid-December and for every pound of sausages sold, £1.50 will be given directly to Marie Curie, a charity that provides care and support to those living with terminal illnesses.
The Norfolk Nobbler is available at Archer's Butchers in Norwich, Coxfords Butchers in Aylsham, Icarus Hines in Cromer, M & D Butchers in Sheringham, Walsingham Farm Shops at Heacham and Walsingham and Papworth Butchers in Fakenham, Swaffham, Sheringham and North Walsham.
Nearly £600 was raised for Marie Curie last year through sales of the Norfolk Nobbler and we think it’s brilliant that so many butchers have jumped at the chance to sell the sausage this year. With Candi also having chosen Marie Curie as her charity of the year (donating 50p for each jar of Parsnip and Chilli Chutney sold at all the Food Festivals and Fairs and Markets), we anticipate that even more money will be raised for the charity this year.
