Turning The Dial Up!
No, this title is not a reflection of Norfolk Food & Drink’s auditory issues – rather a nod to the super busy and super successful Farmyard/Dial House Family.
As you may recall, Hannah Springham and Chef Patron Andrew Jones of Farmyard Restaurant in Norwich acquired The Dial House earlier this year. The Farmyard magic has been well and truly sprinkled in the Reepham direction since then, as we’ve just found out that The Dial House has been nominated for the Best Restaurant award with EAT Norfolk Food and Drink awards. Not to be left out, Farmyard is also up for three awards –Best Restaurant, Field to Fork and Outstanding Front of House.
So what’s the key to their success? We can’t possibly comment of course, but we can tell you that last month they took on a full time pastry chef at The Dial House, to fulfil their desire to take the sweets to another level – while catering with flair to gluten and dairy free diets. And they have just installed a cocktail bar into their garden room - think pastel vintage armchairs, big banana trees, marble planters and a brass-topped bar. Then there’s the state of the art sound system in each room at The Dial House, marble bathrooms with roll top baths… sorry, we digress!
Brilliantly, this dynamic duo still finds time to remind us about their quarterly Dementia friendly lunch service, which will be held on Wednesday 5th September. We love this initiative – a regular lunch service with photos on menus, quieter music and smiley ‘dementia friends’ trained staff who are keen, as always, to welcome everyone. Check out their websites for regular offers – and mention Norfolk Food & Drink if you get in contact!
