Why we are drooling over The Grove in Cromer…

The Grove at Cromer made the mistake of sending us their Late Spring Menu the other day.

Why was it a ‘mistake’, you ask? Because we pinned it to our noticeboard and have been, quite literally, drooling at our desks ever since.

The Grove’s award-winning restaurant is focused on serving seasonally inspired and locally sourced food. And their support of local producers is evident on their new menu.

Sorry, we’re going to have to give you some tasty examples. How about starting with North Sea octopus, served with sizzling chorizo and cardamom jam – moving on to prime fillet of Icarus Hines beef and finishing with a white chocolate and peppercorn cheesecake? Or perhaps you would prefer braised beetroot with caramelised Norfolk Mardler then vanilla marinated, Hevingham chicken with spiced cauliflower?

The pudding to undoubtedly top all puddings features Mrs Graveling's award-winning marmalade in a whiskey and marmalade bread and butter pudding. The owner’s mother (Mrs Graveling) recently picked up two silver awards at the International Marmalade Awards at Dalemain House in Cumbria, for both her Citrus Marmalade and her Seville Orange Marmalade. We think a bit of nepotism on this basis is most definitely a good thing!
