Winter Fair Brings Community Together
Saturday 2nd December saw the return of the ever-popular annual Adnams Winter Fair. Organised by Bonnie and her fabulous team at the Adnams store on Unthank Road, the event saw businesses along the road offering visitors the chance to enjoy tasters and samples, benefit from special offers and get ideas for Christmas gifts.
Anna Stevenson from Norfolk Food & Drink went along to see what it was all about - "I love this event, as it is a real celebration of community spirit. It is wonderful to see so many diverse independent shops coming together to create a fun and engaging street festival for the public to enjoy."
And this year the event was bigger and better than ever before. Needless to say, the Adnams shop was packed full of amazing tasters, from their wines and spirits, to their heavenly cakes as well as flavoured candy floss. Downstairs was busy with stalls from Imagine Spa and local craftspeople, including jewellery and gifts. Marie Curie was also there selling their stunning Norfolk calendars and Christmas cards, as well as cakes and hot drinks and there was a charity raffle. Braving the wintry cold outside the store, was Figbar, with a heavenly selection of cakes, pastries and sausage rolls, and next door The William & Florence were offering street food including delicious warming chilli.
Further along the road, Spurgeons Butchers were offering tasters of some of their delicious sausages and EACH, Break and Elizabeth's The Florist all had activities and stands outside on the pavement. Event Peter Taylor Funeral Services were able to support the event with a guess how many balloons competition. We love this event and hope it will return again next year! And of course, no Winter Fair would be complete without a visit from the Jolly Man in Red...
